The public Video Viewer · Autessa Video Creator
Edits applied on playback
The Autessa Video Viewer applies your trim and crop as the video plays: it starts at your trim start, never plays or seeks past your trim end, loops back to the start, and shows only your crop. Viewers see exactly the cut you chose.
The problem
An edit is only real if every player respects it
Because Video Creator keeps edits as instructions rather than baking them into the file, the public player has to apply them. It does, with the same rules as the app’s own player.
What you get
- Playback starts at your trim start as soon as the video loads.
- Seeking is held inside your trim window, even if the viewer drags the bar outside it.
- At the trim end, playback returns to the start.
- The crop is shown by scaling the video inside a frame, without stretching it.
- Audio stays in sync, because the file itself is never changed.
How it works
How does edits applied on playback work in Autessa Video Creator?
Step 1. Owner sets edits
Trim and crop in the Review step.
Step 2. Viewer opens the link
The viewer reads the video and its edit instructions together.
Step 3. Player applies them
Seek, stop, loop and crop happen live as it plays.
Every option
Playback rules
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Start | Jumps to the trim start on load. |
| Seek | Clamped to the trim window. |
| End | Returns to the trim start. |
| Crop | Scaled to fill the frame with one uniform factor; a crop of a different shape is letterboxed. |
| No edits | The full video plays. |

FAQ
Questions about edits applied on playback
Will the viewer see the trimmed-off part if they seek?
No. The player clamps every seek to your trim window.
Does the crop look stretched on phones?
No. The crop scales evenly; if its shape differs from the player, the player adds bars rather than stretching.
Is the edit applied in Video Creator too?
Yes. Video Creator’s own player follows the same rules, so what you check is what viewers get.
