Posts and the home feed

Autessa Community is a discussion forum at heart: members write posts with a title, a markdown body, an optional link and one tag, in the community where they belong. The home feed brings posts from every community you joined into one place, sorted by New or Top for today, this week, this month or all time.

The problem

Chat scrolls away; posts stay findable

Important updates, questions and ideas vanish in chat within hours. A post has a title, a tag, a community and a permanent address, so it can be voted on, discussed, searched and linked to from the wiki months later.

What you get

  • Write posts in markdown with a Write and Preview switch, so you see exactly what colleagues will see.
  • Add an optional link that turns into a rich preview with the site name, title, description and image.
  • Every post carries exactly one tag, such as Question, Update, Idea or Help wanted, so filters stay clean.
  • The home feed sorts by New or Top, and Top can look at Today, This week, This month or All time.
  • Filter the feed to one community or one tag; the filters live in the URL, so a filtered view can be shared.
  • Authors edit or delete their own posts; edited posts show that they were edited.
  • A side column lists your communities and explains how the hub works, and a fresh hub opens with a pinned how-to post.

How it works

How does posts and the home feed work in Autessa Community?

  1. Choose where it goes

Pick the community from the ones you joined (admins and moderators can post anywhere). The tag list shows the default tags plus that community’s own.

  2. Write it

Give it a title (What is this about?), pick a tag, add a link if you have one, and write the body in markdown. Preview before you post.

  3. Attach what helps

Drop in up to 10 images, videos or documents, which upload once the post is created.

  4. It reaches the right people

The post appears in its community and in the home feed of everyone who joined it, and in weekday activity emails for those who get them.

FAQ

Questions about posts and the home feed

Can I format posts?

Yes. Posts are written in markdown with a Write and Preview switch, and can include a link preview and attachments.

How is the home feed sorted?

By New or Top. Top ranks by score and can look at today, this week, this month or all time. You can also filter to one community or one tag.

Why does every post need a tag?

One tag per post keeps the feed easy to filter: you can show only Questions, or only Updates, in any community.

Can I edit a post after publishing?

Yes. Authors can edit or delete their own posts, and edited posts show that they changed.
