Discussion forum · Autessa Community
Tags
Autessa Community uses tags to categorize every post. Default tags (Question, Update, Idea and Help wanted in the starter hub) work in every community, communities can add their own, and every post carries exactly one, so the feed is easy to filter.
The problem
A forum without categories is a pile
Without consistent categories, people cannot tell a question from an announcement at a glance, and filters return noise. A short, admin-curated tag list keeps posts sorted without making anyone think about taxonomy.
What you get
- Default tags apply to every community; community tags apply only to their own community.
- Each tag has a name, an address, a description, a color and a sort order.
- Members see tags in the order the admin set.
- Deactivating a tag hides it from the post composer without changing old posts.
- Changing a post’s community drops a tag that does not belong there.
- Filter the home feed or a community feed to one tag.
How it works
How does tags work in Autessa Community?
Set up the default tags
On the admin Tags page, create the tags every community shares and drag them into order.
Add community tags
From a community’s edit page, add tags that only make sense there, such as Release notes in Engineering.
Members pick one per post
The composer shows default tags plus the chosen community’s own.
Filter by tag
Use the tag filter on the feed to see only Questions, Ideas or anything else.

FAQ
Questions about tags
How many tags can a post have?
One, which keeps filtering simple and predictable.
Can a community have its own tags?
Yes. Community tags are only available in that community, alongside the default tags that work everywhere.
What happens to old posts when a tag is turned off?
They keep their tag. Deactivating only hides the tag from the composer for new posts.
