Attachments and link previews
Autessa Community takes attachments on posts, comments, direct messages and wiki pages: up to 10 images, videos or documents, up to 100 MB each. Images and videos open in a keyboard-friendly lightbox, documents download, and links in posts turn into rich previews.
The problem
Context lives in screenshots and files
A bug report without the screenshot, or a policy question without the PDF, means a round of follow-up messages. Attachments put the context in the post, where everyone can see it.
What you get
- Images: PNG, JPG, GIF (animation kept), HEIC and HEIF, with iPhone HEIC photos converted to JPEG as they upload.
- Video: MP4, M4V, MOV and WebM, played in the lightbox with native controls.
- Documents: PDF, Word, Excel, text and email (.eml) files, listed with download links.
- Drag and drop or browse, with thumbnails and validation before upload.
- Up to 10 attachments, 100 MB each.
- Link previews show the site, title, description and image, fetched once and cached.
- File links are short-lived and fetched as needed, so attachments are not left on open, permanent URLs.

What files can I attach?
Images (PNG, JPG, GIF, HEIC), videos (MP4, MOV, M4V, WebM) and documents (PDF, Word, Excel, text and .eml), up to 10 per item and 100 MB each.
Do iPhone photos work?
Yes. HEIC and HEIF photos are converted to JPEG as they upload.
Do links get previews?
Yes. A link on a post shows a preview with the site name, title, description and image.
