Communities

Autessa Community organizes your internal community platform into communities: one for each department, team, office or topic. Each community has its own color and icon, a description, a post feed, moderators, tags and its own wiki, and members join the ones that matter to them.

The problem

One giant channel buries everything

When the whole company talks in one stream, sales wins drown out engineering incidents and nobody can find last month’s answer. Communities give each conversation a home and an owner, so people follow what they need and skip what they do not.

What you get

  • Every community has a name, an address (slug), a description, a color and a one to three character icon such as S for Sales.
  • Default communities, such as General and Announcements in the starter hub, are joined automatically by every new member.
  • Members browse every active community, search them by name and join or leave with one click; member counts update instantly.
  • Each community page shows its feed, its description, its moderators, its member count and the people in it.
  • Message the mods opens a new group conversation with every moderator of that community already selected.
  • Every community has its own wiki next to its feed, separate from the company-wide wiki.
  • Archived communities stay readable with an Archived badge but drop out of the list members browse.

How it works

How does communities work in Autessa Community?

  1. Admins create the communities

From the admin console, New community asks for a name, address, description, color and icon, with a live preview, and a switch for whether everyone joins it automatically.

  2. Members join what matters

The Communities page lists every active community with a join or leave control on each card and a search box to narrow the list.

  3. Each community gets moderators

On the edit page an admin picks moderators from the people who have joined. Moderators can act on posts in their community without being hub-wide moderators.

  4. Conversation and knowledge live together

The community page holds its feed and a Community wiki link, so the discussion and the settled answers sit side by side.

FAQ

Questions about communities

What is a community in Autessa Community?

A community is a space for one department, team, office or topic, with its own feed, moderators, tags and wiki. Members join the communities they care about, and the home feed shows posts from all of them.

Can some communities be joined automatically?

Yes. Mark a community as default and everyone joins it on their first visit. The starter hub makes General and Announcements default.

Can a community have its own moderators?

Yes. Admins choose moderators per community from its members. They can moderate posts in that community without hub-wide moderator rights.

What happens when a community is archived?

It leaves the list members browse but its posts stay readable with an Archived badge, and an admin can restore it any time.
