Anchored comments

Autessa Drive has threaded comments that anchor to exactly what you selected: text in a document, a page range in a PDF, cells in a spreadsheet, a slide, or the whole file. The selection stays highlighted for everyone who can see the comment, and when a new version changes the text, the comment moves to where that text now sits.

“See my comment on page 4” is not a location

Feedback in email and chat floats free of the document, and comments in many tools break when the file is replaced with a new version. Reviews need to point at the exact clause, cell or slide and survive the next save.

README · what you get
  • Press C or click Comments to open the panel; select text, a PDF page range, a cell range, a slide, or nothing to comment on the whole file.
  • Threads support replies, resolve, and showing resolved threads again any time.
  • Each comment shows an excerpt of exactly what was selected, highlighted in the document.
  • Clicking a comment jumps to its place; clicking a highlight opens its thread.
  • Comment counts appear in the file’s details and as a badge in the folder list.
  • Comments stay with the file across versions; a comment whose text is gone is marked as needing a look.
  • Agents can read and leave comments with the same anchors, from the CLI or the API.

AI agents

How AI agents use it

A review agent can grep a contract for risky clauses and leave a comment anchored to each one, with a citation to the clause it compared against. People reply and resolve as usual.

Agents only reach files the person they act for can open, and every agent write is a version you can undo.

Questions about anchored comments

Can I comment on a specific part of a PDF?

Yes. Select a page range in a PDF, text in a document, cells in a spreadsheet or a slide, and the comment anchors there with the selection highlighted.

What happens to comments when a file gets a new version?

They stay with the file. A comment moves to where its text now sits, or is marked as needing a look if the text is gone.

Who can resolve comments?

Editors and owners can resolve any thread. Authors edit and delete their own comments, and drive managers can delete any comment.

Can AI agents comment?

Yes. Agents can read and leave comments with the same anchors, so a review note lands on the right page.
