Keeping unfiled inventions confidential
Autessa IDF Manager protects invention disclosures with role-based access, reviewer-only legal, commercial and scoring fields, internal comments, short-lived file links and an activity feed of every change. It runs on the Autessa platform, whose security is documented in the Autessa Trust Center.

How it works
What protects a disclosure?
Roles decide what each person sees
Admin, Reviewer, Contributor and Viewer, from an explicit capability matrix. Anyone you have not given a role is a Viewer and can only read public fields.
Restricted fields stay with reviewers
Review, legal and commercial fields (scores, attorney notes, docket and application numbers, file decision and more) are removed before a Contributor’s or Viewer’s screen is drawn.
Internal comments
Reviewers and Admins can post comments that only other Reviewers and Admins see.
Ownership
Contributors can edit and submit only disclosures they authored, and the author is always the signed-in person.
Moves are checked twice
Pipeline buttons are shown only for legal moves your role allows, and each move is checked again right before it is saved.
Short-lived file links
Attachments open through links that expire after about ten minutes and are fetched fresh on every click.
Restricted fields
Which fields are reviewer-only?
| Group | Fields | Who sees them |
|---|---|---|
| Internal review | Novelty score, commercial value score, review comments, rejection reason | Reviewer, Admin |
| Legal and prosecution | Attorney notes, patentability assessment, prior art analysis, docket number, application number, filing date, priority date, grant number | Reviewer, Admin |
| Commercial and strategic | Estimated value, licensing strategy, competitive significance, file decision, decision rationale | Reviewer, Admin |
| Internal comments | Comments marked Internal | Reviewer, Admin |
| Activity feed | Who did what, on every disclosure | Reviewer, Admin |
| Public fields | Title, description, problem, summary, novelty, prior art, inventors, collaborators, tags, status, attachments | Everyone with access |
Good practice
Who should have access at all?
Roles shape what each person sees and can change inside IDF Manager. They work best alongside a deliberate decision about who can open the app in the first place: share IDF Manager with the people in your invention program (inventors, reviewers, counsel and administrators) rather than with the whole company.

Security questions
How does Autessa IDF Manager keep unfiled inventions confidential?
Through roles. Only people you give access to can open IDF Manager, and inside it legal, commercial and scoring fields and internal comments are shown to Reviewers and Admins only. Every screen carries a confidential banner, and file links expire after about ten minutes.
Can inventors see reviewers’ notes?
No. Review scores, review comments, attorney notes and the other restricted fields are removed before a Contributor’s or Viewer’s screen is drawn, and internal comments are filtered out the same way.
Is there a history of changes?
Yes. The activity feed records who created, updated, moved, commented on or attached files to each disclosure, and who changed roles.
Where can I find Autessa’s security and compliance information?
In the Autessa Trust Center at trust.autessa.com, which covers how the Autessa platform that runs IDF Manager is secured and audited.

100% customizable, code and all
Make Autessa IDF Manager fully your own.
Use it out of the box, then change anything. Ask Autobot, Autessa’s AI builder, for a new field, screen, report, workflow or agent and it builds it into your copy of the app. Or open the code and edit it yourself. Nothing is locked: the app, its data and its code are yours.
