Questions about review and decisions
What are the stages of an invention disclosure?
Draft, Submitted, Under Review, Approved, On Hold, Rejected, Filed and Granted. Rejected and Granted are final; every other stage has a fixed set of next moves.
How are invention disclosures scored?
Reviewers give each disclosure a novelty score and a commercial value score, each a whole number from 1 to 10, and add review comments. Scores are optional; an unscored disclosure shows a dash.
Does Autessa IDF Manager track patent application numbers?
Yes. Each disclosure has fields for docket number, application number, filing date, priority date and grant number, plus attorney notes, a patentability assessment and prior art analysis.
Can I record why we chose not to file?
Yes. Use the file decision and decision rationale fields, and the rejection reason in the internal review section, so the reasoning stays with the disclosure.
