Lead time

In Autessa Meeting Reminders you choose the lead time: how many minutes before each meeting your phone rings, anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes, with 3 minutes as the default. A meeting that is already inside that window when it is found, like one added at the last minute, is called right away.

Found a meeting that starts in 2 minutes? It is called right away instead of waiting.

Anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes before. Three is the default.

The problem

Too early is forgotten, too late is late

A reminder 15 minutes out gets dismissed and forgotten; one at the start time means you are already late. The right lead time depends on you: three minutes to wrap a thought and join a video call, ten to walk across a building, thirty to drive to a site.

What you get

  • Set any whole number of minutes from 1 to 60.
  • The default is 3 minutes, enough to save your work and join a video call.
  • The call is booked for exactly the meeting’s start time minus your lead time.
  • Meetings found inside the lead window are called immediately rather than skipped.
  • Change the lead time any time in Settings; new bookings use the new value.
  • The spoken reminder uses your lead time: “starts in 10 minutes.”

How it works

How does lead time work?

  1. 1

    Pick a number

In Timing, set “Call me this many minutes before.” Values outside 1 to 60 are clamped into range.

  2. 2

    Calls are booked

Each new meeting’s call is booked for its start minus your lead time.

  3. 3

    Late additions

If a meeting is found when it is already inside the window (for example, it was added two minutes before it starts), the call is placed right away.

  4. 4

    Change it later

Open Settings, change “Minutes before the meeting” and save.

FAQ

Questions about lead time

How many minutes before the meeting does the call come?

Three minutes by default. You can set any whole number from 1 to 60 minutes.

What if a meeting is added at the last minute?

If the meeting is already inside your lead window when it is found, it is called right away. Press Refresh to scan your calendars immediately.

Can I have two reminders for one meeting?

No. A setup places one call per meeting, at the lead time you choose, so the call that comes is the one that matters.
