The problem
Pop-up reminders are easy to miss
Calendar notifications appear on the screen you are not looking at, or as one more buzz among dozens. When you are heads-down, on the road or between rooms, a back-to-back day slips. A phone call is the one alert almost everyone still answers, which is why people have always booked wake-up calls. Meeting Reminders gives every meeting a wake-up call of its own.
What you get
- Every timed meeting on your linked Google and Outlook calendars gets its own reminder call.
- The call names the meeting and how soon it starts: “Your meeting Design review starts in 3 minutes.”
- Calls come from your own dedicated Autessa reminder number, so you know who is calling before you answer.
- Calls are placed by Autessa, not by an app on your computer, so they work when your computer is off.
- If you talk back, a friendly voice assistant answers in a sentence or two.
- Every call, past and future, is listed in your calls log with its status.
- If nobody answers, the call simply ends; reminder calls do not leave voicemails.
How it works
How does meeting reminder calls work?
- 1
Set up once
Open Meeting Reminders, enter the phone number to call in international format (for example +15551234567), choose a lead time and link at least one calendar. Autessa gives the setup its own reminder number.
- 2
Your calendars are read
Every 30 minutes Autessa looks at the next 24 hours of your linked calendars and books one call for each new timed meeting.
- 3
The call is booked
Each call is booked for the meeting’s start time minus your lead time, and appears in the calls log as Scheduled.
- 4
Your phone rings
At call time Autessa checks the meeting’s row one last time. If it is still Scheduled, your phone rings and the reminder is spoken as soon as you answer.
- 5
It is logged
The row moves to Called, or to Failed with the reason if the call could not be placed, so you can always see what happened.
Every option
What shapes each reminder call
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Phone number to call | Your own phone, in international format. Change it any time in Settings. |
| Reminder number | The dedicated Autessa number the call comes from, shown in the setup header (“We call … from …”). |
| Minutes before the meeting | Any whole number from 1 to 60. The default is 3. |
| What is said | “Your meeting <meeting title> starts in <N> minutes.” spoken when you answer. |
| Which meetings | Timed meetings on the calendars you link. All-day events never ring. |
| Quiet hours | An optional daily window, in a time zone you choose, when no calls are placed. |
| Unanswered calls | The call ends and you see a missed call. If an answering machine picks up, the call hangs up. |

AI on the call
How the voice assistant is involved
The reminder itself is a fixed, prewritten sentence, so it is always accurate. A voice assistant stays on the line only to answer if you talk back: it repeats the meeting name and how soon it starts, confirms briefly and wishes you a good meeting. It is told never to invent details it was not given.

FAQ
Questions about meeting reminder calls
What does the reminder call say?
It names the meeting and how soon it starts, for example “Your meeting Standup starts in 3 minutes.” The sentence is spoken as soon as you answer.
Does it work if my computer is off?
Yes. Autessa reads your calendars and places the call itself, so nothing needs to run on your computer. The call reaches your phone wherever you are.
Does it leave a voicemail if I miss the call?
No. A reminder is only useful live, so if an answering machine picks up the call hangs up, and you see a missed call from your reminder number. If you want a backup, you can set up an Autessa agent to email you the meeting link or call again.
Can it send me a text instead?
Meeting Reminders places phone calls, because a ringing phone is the alert you cannot miss. For text messages, Autessa Phone and Texting sends them as part of your own tools and workflows.
