Sprint planning
Autessa Vision includes sprint planning for agile teams. The Sprints page lists every future, active and completed sprint with its tasks, plus a backlog of everything not yet planned, grouped by project. Drag tasks between the backlog and sprints, set dates, and start a sprint when it is ready.
The problem
Plans that live in a spreadsheet drift from the board
When sprint planning happens in a separate doc, the board and the plan disagree by Wednesday. In Vision the Sprints page works on the same tasks as the board: put a task in Sprint 14 here and it is on the board’s Triaged tab for Sprint 14 immediately.
What you get
- Sprints move through Future, Active and Completed, with only one active sprint at a time; starting another one completes the current sprint after you confirm.
- Each team sets a default sprint length in days, and the first sprint schedules itself from today for that length (still editable).
- Click a sprint’s name to rename it and its dates to change them; a sprint goal, when set, shows under the name.
- Drag a task between the backlog and any sprint that is not completed, or use the row menu’s Move to.
- Add tasks inline at the bottom of any section with “What needs to be done?”; the row stays open to add several in a row.
- The Backlog tab groups unfinished tasks outside the current sprint by project.
- Each row shows status (click to advance it), the task key, subtask progress, points and the assignee; click an avatar to filter.
- Search filters tasks by title or assignee across every sprint.
How it works
How does sprint planning work in Autessa Vision?
Create a sprint
Use New sprint (or right-click anywhere, then New sprint). The first one auto-schedules to the team’s sprint length.
Fill it
Drag tasks in from the backlog, or let AI auto-triage propose a plan on the Triage page.
Start it
Press Start sprint. It becomes the active sprint and the board’s default.
Run it
Watch progress, pace and the countdown in the sprint header while the team works on the board.
Close it
Complete the sprint with a review that carries unfinished work into the next one.

AI assist
How Vision AI helps
The Sprint agent can answer “how is the current sprint tracking?”, “what is at risk of not finishing?” and “help me plan the next sprint”, and the Triage page’s Auto-triage fills a target sprint up to its capacity.
Vision AI always shows a preview or asks first. You decide what is applied.

FAQ
Questions about sprint planning
Does Vision support sprints?
Yes. Vision has future, active and completed sprints with dates, a default length per team, a backlog, drag and drop planning and a sprint review.
How many sprints can be active at once?
One per board, so the team always knows the current sprint. If you start another, Vision warns you and completes the current one when you confirm.
Can we work without sprints?
Yes. Tasks with no sprint simply sit in the backlog, and the board, list, projects and calendar all work without sprints.
