AI auto-triage

Autessa Vision’s AI auto-triage plans your whole backlog in one pass. For every task in the queue it proposes a sprint (or keeps it in the backlog), an owner, a priority, a project, an estimate and labels, keeps the target sprint within the team’s capacity, balances work across people, and flags likely duplicates. You review every row, change anything, and nothing is saved until you press Apply.

The problem

Sprint planning meetings spent filling in fields

Most of a planning meeting is mechanical: estimate this, who owns that, does it fit, have we seen it before. Those are exactly the questions a model can answer from the board’s own data. Auto-triage does the first draft so the meeting is spent on the decisions that need people.

What you get

  • Choose the target sprint (the active one by default) and the capacity in points, which defaults to recent velocity.
  • Add plain-language guidance, such as “bugs first, keep Sam light this sprint”.
  • Auto-triage proposes sprint, owner, priority, project, points and labels for up to 60 queued tasks per run, each with a short reason.
  • Owners come only from the board’s real members, and projects and sprints only from real ones on the board.
  • Capacity is enforced: if a plan overfills the sprint, the highest-priority additions stay and the rest go back to the backlog.
  • Changed fields are highlighted, and every cell stays editable before you apply.
  • Untick any row to leave that task alone, and keep or turn off Link duplicates.
  • A summary explains the plan, and the capacity panel shows each person’s load before and after.

How it works

How does ai auto-triage work in Autessa Vision?

  1. Set the target

On the Triage page, pick the sprint to plan into and confirm the capacity in points.

  2. Give guidance (optional)

Type how you want it done, for example “customer bugs first” or “Priya is out next week”.

  3. Press Auto-triage

Vision AI reads the queue, the team, the sprints, the projects and current load, and returns a proposed plan with a summary.

  4. Review

Check each row’s reason. Change a sprint, owner, priority, project or estimate, or untick a row.

  5. Apply

Press Apply. Vision updates only the fields that changed, links duplicates if you kept that on, and tells you how many tasks were triaged.

AI assist

How Vision AI helps

This is Vision AI’s planning engine. It is validated against the board, so it can only use real people, sprints, projects and tasks, and capacity is always enforced. The Triage agent offers the same planning in chat.

Vision AI always shows a preview or asks first. You decide what is applied.

FAQ

Questions about ai auto-triage

Can AI plan a sprint in Autessa Vision?

Yes. Auto-triage proposes a sprint, owner, priority, project, estimate and labels for every task in the queue, within the capacity you set. You review and apply it.

Does auto-triage change tasks on its own?

No. It produces a proposed plan. Nothing changes until you press Apply, and you can edit or exclude any row first.

How does it avoid overloading the sprint?

The plan is checked against capacity in points. If it overfills the sprint, the highest-priority additions stay and the rest return to the backlog. Each person’s load before and after is shown beside the plan.

Can it assign people who are not on the team?

No. Owners must be members of the board, and sprints, projects and duplicate links must be real items on the board.
