Task dependencies and relations
Autessa Vision tracks task dependencies with blocked by, blocks, duplicate of, duplicates and related. Any task with an unfinished blocker shows a red Blocked badge on its card, so the team sees what is waiting before anyone starts on it.
The problem
Work that cannot start looks like work that is late
When a task is quietly waiting on another one, it looks stalled and gets chased. When two people file the same bug, both get worked. Relations make waiting and duplication explicit, and the Blocked badge keeps it visible on the board.
What you get
- Link tasks as Blocked by, Blocks, Duplicate of, Duplicates or Related from the task page.
- Find the other task by searching its title or key (for example ENG-432).
- Blockers that are not done yet are flagged on the task page.
- Cards and list rows show a Blocked badge, with the blocking keys in its tooltip, until every blocker is done.
- Remove a relation with one click.
- AI auto-triage can link likely duplicates when you apply a plan.
How it works
How does task dependencies and relations work in Autessa Vision?
Open Relations
On a task page, choose a relation type and search for the other task by title or key.
Pick the task
Choose it from the results. Vision stores the link once and shows it the right way round on both tasks: one blocks, the other is blocked by.
Watch the badge
The blocked task shows Blocked on the board until its blockers reach the done column.

Questions about task dependencies and relations
Does Vision support task dependencies?
Yes. Tasks can block or be blocked by other tasks, and a Blocked badge shows on the card until every blocker is done.
How do I mark a duplicate?
Add a Duplicate of relation on the task page, or let AI auto-triage link likely duplicates when you apply a triage plan.
What happens if the blocking task is deleted?
An unknown or deleted blocker counts as done, so a task never shows a Blocked badge for something that no longer exists.
