Boards and tasks · Autessa Vision
Kanban board
Autessa Vision includes a kanban board for every team. Tasks sit in columns you define, move by drag and drop, keep the order you give them, and land in a done column that marks them complete. Backlog and Triaged tabs split work that is not yet planned from work committed to the selected sprint.
The problem
Work scattered across chats, docs and memory
Without one shared board, nobody can answer “what is everyone working on?” without a meeting. A kanban board makes the flow of work visible at a glance: what is waiting, what is moving, what is stuck in review and what is done. Vision makes the board the team’s home, and every other view (list, sprints, projects, calendar) reads the same tasks.
What you get
- Every team is a board: the team name is the board title, and renaming one renames the other.
- Columns start as To Do, In Progress, In Review and Done, and owners and admins can add, rename, recolor, reorder and delete them.
- Any column can be set as the done state; tasks there count as complete everywhere in Vision, and moving a task into it sets off a small celebration.
- Drag a card between columns to change its status, or within a column to reorder it; the order is saved for everyone.
- Drop a card on the center of another card to make it a subtask of that card; it keeps its title, details, files and comments.
- Backlog shows tasks in no sprint; Triaged shows tasks in the sprint you pick from the sprint selector, which defaults to the active sprint.
- Cards show priority bars, the task key (such as ENG-432), project, labels, due date (red when overdue), subtask progress, points, assignee and a Blocked badge.
- Select several cards with ⌘ or Ctrl-click, Shift-click or X, then set status, assignee, priority, project or sprint, or delete them, in one go.
How it works
How does kanban board work in Autessa Vision?
Create a team, get a board
Creating a team in Vision creates its board. A brand-new board starts with To Do, In Progress, In Review and Done.
Shape the columns
Owners and admins add a column, rename it inline, pick its color, mark it as the done state, or delete it. A board always keeps at least one column, and deleting a column asks you to confirm because it removes the tasks in it.
Add work
Press C or use the add button to create a task with its title, description, status, priority, assignee, sprint, project, due date, estimate, labels and files. New tasks in no sprint appear on the Backlog tab.
Move it along
Drag cards across columns as work progresses. Drop on a card’s top or bottom edge to reorder, or its center to nest it as a subtask. Click an avatar to filter the board to that person; click empty space to clear it.
Finish it
Drop a card in the done column. It counts toward sprint progress, project progress and the person’s closed tickets, and Pulse lists it under shipped this week.

AI assist
How Vision AI helps
From anywhere on the board, ⌘J opens New with AI: type “fix the login bug for Sam by Friday, urgent” and Vision AI fills in the task for you to check, or paste notes to get a whole list of tasks. The Tasks agent can answer “what should I work on next?” and make changes after you confirm.
Vision AI always shows a preview or asks first. You decide what is applied.

FAQ
Questions about kanban board
Can I customize the columns on a Vision board?
Yes. Owners and admins can add, rename, recolor, reorder and delete columns, and choose which column is the done state. Every board keeps at least one column.
What is the difference between the Backlog and Triaged tabs?
Backlog shows tasks that are not in any sprint. Triaged shows tasks in the sprint selected next to the tabs, which defaults to the active sprint.
How do I make a task a subtask on the board?
Drag it onto the center of another card and drop when you see “+ Make subtask”. The task keeps all its details and moves under its new parent. A task that already has subtasks cannot itself be nested.
What happens when I delete a column?
Vision asks you to confirm and tells you how many tasks are in it, because deleting a column also deletes its tasks across the backlog and every sprint.
