Signer experience · Autessa Document Signing
Sign without an account
With Autessa Document Signing, signers do not need an account, an app or a password. They click the link in their invitation email, agree to sign electronically, and sign in the browser on a computer, tablet or phone, guided by a checklist that jumps to each of their fields.
The problem it solves
Every extra step loses a signature
Asking a customer to create an account or install an app before they can sign is the fastest way to stall a deal. On a 40-page agreement, a signer who cannot find the one initials box on page 31 stalls it too. Autessa keeps the signer’s side to a link, a consent screen, a checklist and a button.
What you get
- Each signer gets their own email with their own link, the envelope title, the sender and your custom note.
- The link is the credential: a single-use, high-entropy token that exists only in that email. Autessa stores a hash of it, never the token, so no one can rebuild a link from the database.
- No separate code or password step: clicking the link opens the document.
- The full document renders with the signer’s own fields highlighted and a checklist in the sidebar.
- Clicking a checklist item scrolls to that field, and items tick off as they are completed.
- Fields for other signers are visible but not editable; prefilled content is already part of the page.
- After signing, the signer sees whether others still have to sign or whether the envelope just completed.
- An expired link shows a page with a one-click request for a fresh link to the same address.
How it works
Sign without an account, step by step
Open the invitation
The email carries the title, the sender, your note and a button to the signing page.
Agree to sign electronically
The first screen explains electronic records and signatures. I agree continues; I don’t agree opens the decline flow.
Fill the fields
Use the checklist to jump to each field. Signature and Initials open the signature pad.
Confirm and sign
Tick the statement confirming identity and authority, then press Sign document.
Get the copy
When everyone has signed, a download link to the sealed document arrives by email.
Every option

| Field checklist | Every field for this signer, ticking off as it is done; click to jump. |
| Signature pad | Draw, Type or Upload. |
| Identity confirmation | Confirms they are the named person at that email and authorized to sign. |
| Header actions | Delegate signer and Decline. |
| Confirmation | Says whether others still need to sign or the envelope is complete. |
| Expired link page | One-click request for a fresh link to the same address. |

FAQ
Sign without an account: questions and answers
Do signers need an Autessa account?
No. Signers click the link in their email and sign in the browser. No account, app or password.
Can people sign on a phone?
Yes. The signing page works in a mobile browser, and the Draw tab accepts a finger on a touchscreen.
How does a signer open the document?
One click on the emailed link. The link itself is the credential, so there is nothing extra to type. That is why signers should use Delegate signer rather than forwarding the email.
What if the link has expired?
The page offers a one-click request for a fresh link, emailed to the same address on the envelope.
100% customizable, code and all
Make Autessa Document Signing fully your own.
Use it out of the box, then change anything. Ask Autobot, Autessa’s AI builder, for a new field, screen, report, workflow or agent and it builds it into your copy of the app. Or open the code and edit it yourself. Nothing is locked: the app, its data and its code are yours.
