Draw, type or upload a signature

When a signer taps a Signature or Initials field in Autessa, a signature pad opens with three tabs: Draw, Type and Upload. They can draw with a mouse, trackpad or finger, type their name in one of several script fonts, or upload a PNG or JPG of an existing signature, then preview it and apply.

The problem it solves

People sign differently

Some signers want to draw, some are on a laptop without a touchscreen, and some already have a scanned signature they use everywhere. Forcing one method makes the experience feel foreign. The Autessa pad offers all three and lets the signer redo it until it looks right.

What you get

  • Draw: with a mouse, a trackpad or a finger on a touchscreen, with a Clear button.
  • Type: the signer’s name is suggested, and they pick from several script fonts.
  • Upload: a PNG or JPG of an existing signature.
  • The same pad, sized for initials, opens for Initials fields.
  • Signers preview the result before applying it, and can redo it.
  • The applied image is stamped into that signer’s fields, and their PAdES digital signature is embedded when they submit.

FAQ

Draw, type or upload a signature: questions and answers

Can I type my signature instead of drawing it?

Yes. Choose the Type tab, check your name and pick a script font.

Can I upload an image of my signature?

Yes. The Upload tab accepts a PNG or JPG.

Is a typed signature as valid as a drawn one?

In Autessa every method is applied the same way: the signer has consented, confirmed their identity, and their submission is recorded on the audit trail and embedded as a PAdES digital signature. Ask your counsel about requirements for specific document types.
