Drive API and SDK

Autessa Drive has a REST API and an AutessaScript SDK for everything the explorer does: list, tree, find, stat, exact text search, ranked search, read, download links and fetch; multipart uploads; folders, moves, trash and restore; versions; sharing, links and ownership; comments; storage and processing status; and a changes feed that keeps sync clients current.

  • Every request is a POST to /clients/autessadb-drive/<operation> with the drive’s ID.
  • Two layers of permission: the API key’s permission on the drive (READ, WRITE, DELETE) and sharing inside the drive for its acting identity.
  • Items it cannot open behave as if they do not exist.
  • Items are addressed by path or by a nodeId that never changes, even when moved or renamed.
  • Multipart uploads: start, part links, complete, commit and cancel.
  • Versions: list and restore; replace one file with another for an editor’s safe save.
  • Sharing: who has access, share, stop sharing, shared with me, check access, transfer ownership, create, list and revoke links.
  • Comments under /comments with page, text, cell and slide anchors.

Does Autessa Drive have an API?

Yes. A REST API covers browsing, search, reads, multipart uploads, versions, sharing, links, comments and a changes feed, and scripts use the AutessaScript SDK.

Does the API respect sharing?

Yes. Requests run under the key’s acting identity and only reach items it can open; anything else behaves as if it does not exist.

Can I keep a local copy in sync?

Yes. The changes call lists everything that changed since a cursor, kept for 30 days, so a sync client never has to list the whole drive again.
