Area and whole-page redaction
Autessa Redact can redact any area of a page, not just text. Drag a box over a photo, signature, handwriting, stamp or chart and everything inside is removed when you burn. You can also redact a whole page in one step, with or without a label.

The problem
Not everything sensitive is text
Signatures, ID photos, handwritten notes and screenshots carry personal information that a text search will never find. Area redaction covers them, and whole-page redaction handles the attachment or exhibit that should not be shared at all.
- Drag on the page to draw a box; hold Alt to draw over text instead of selecting it.
- A drawn area can span pages.
- Move a box by dragging it and resize it by its edges; arrow keys nudge it, and Shift makes bigger steps.
- Redact whole page or Redact whole page with label from the page’s right-click menu.
- Drawn boxes are listed as Drawn area in the Redactions panel, so you can tell them from text matches.
- Everything inside a box is removed in the burned file, including images and vector drawings.
How it works
How does area and whole-page redaction work in Autessa Redact?
Draw
Drag across the area. On text, hold Alt so the drag draws a box instead of selecting words.
Label it
Pick a label such as Signature, or leave it as a plain black box.
Fine-tune
Drag the box or its edges, or nudge it with the arrow keys until it covers what it should.
Or take the whole page
Right-click the page and choose Redact whole page for an exhibit that should not be shared.

Can I redact a signature or a photo?
Yes. Draw a box over it. Everything inside the box, including images, is removed when you burn.
Can I redact an entire page?
Yes. Right-click the page and choose Redact whole page, or Redact whole page with label to show a label such as Confidential.
How do I draw a box over text instead of selecting it?
Hold Alt while you drag. Without Alt, dragging over text selects the words.
