Mark and review · Autessa Redact
PDF redaction editor
Autessa Redact includes a PDF redaction editor that runs in your browser. Every file you upload, whether a PDF, Word file, email or scan, opens as a page-accurate PDF with page navigation, zoom, a redaction list and your burn options in one view, so what you see is exactly what will be burned.
The problem
Redaction tools that hide the result until it is too late
Desktop PDF editors often treat redaction as one menu among dozens, and a box drawn on screen does not always match what ends up in the file. Redact is built for this job: one page-accurate view, one list of every mark with its status, and a draft of the burned file whenever you want to check.
- Each page is drawn from the prepared PDF itself, so a box covers on screen exactly what it will remove in the file.
- Page navigation with previous and next page, a Go to page box and keyboard paging.
- Zoom in, zoom out and fit width, from the toolbar or the keyboard.
- The Redactions panel lists every box by page with its label and status, filtered by All, Pending, Will burn and Rejected.
- A right-click menu on selected text, on a box or on the page offers every action, from Redact with label to Find all occurrences.
- Marks are kept with the file as you work, and an Unsaved changes notice with Try saving again appears if a save does not go through.
- Burn options (Show labels on the burned file, Break all links) sit next to the Burn and save button.

AI assist
How AI helps here
Suggest redactions sits in the editor toolbar. While AI reads the pages, editing pauses; when it finishes, its boxes appear highlighted as pending suggestions with a reason on each, ready to accept or reject.
AI proposes; a person decides what is removed.

FAQ
Questions about PDF redaction editor
Do I need to install anything to redact a PDF?
No. The Redact editor runs in your browser inside Autessa. Upload a file, mark it and burn it without any desktop software.
Can I close the editor and come back later?
Yes, within 24 hours. Your marks are kept with the file, and it waits in Your files. A file left unfinished for 24 hours is cleared automatically.
How do I see only the boxes that will be burned?
Use the Will burn filter in the Redactions panel. It shows your own boxes and accepted suggestions, and leaves out pending and rejected ones.
Does what I see match the saved file?
Yes. Pages are drawn from the prepared PDF, boxes are stored in page coordinates, and you can open a draft of the burned file to check before saving.
