How Autessa Redact handles mark and review
PDF redaction editor →
- Each page is drawn from the prepared PDF itself, so a box covers on screen exactly what it will remove in the file.
- Page navigation with previous and next page, a Go to page box and keyboard paging.
- Zoom in, zoom out and fit width, from the toolbar or the keyboard.
Redact selected text →
- Select text with the mouse and press Enter to redact it as a plain black box, or pick a label first.
- Boxes come from the PDF’s text positions and font metrics, so they are the same at every zoom level.
- Rotated pages and pages with an offset layout land exactly, because boxes use page coordinates.
Area and whole-page redaction →
- Drag on the page to draw a box; hold Alt to draw over text instead of selecting it.
- A drawn area can span pages.
- Move a box by dragging it and resize it by its edges; arrow keys nudge it, and Shift makes bigger steps.
Keyboard review, undo and redo →
- D accepts the selected AI suggestion and X rejects it.
- A accepts all pending suggestions and Shift+A rejects them all.
- M jumps to the next pending AI suggestion; J and K move to the next and previous box.
FAQ
Questions about mark and review
Do I need to install anything to redact a PDF?
No. The Redact editor runs in your browser inside Autessa. Upload a file, mark it and burn it without any desktop software.
Can I select text in a scanned document?
Yes. Redact reads the page image of a scan so its text can be selected and searched. Check that boxes found this way cover the words, since they come from the image rather than real text.
Can I redact a signature or a photo?
Yes. Draw a box over it. Everything inside the box, including images, is removed when you burn.
What is the fastest way to review AI suggestions?
Press M to jump to the next pending suggestion, then D to accept or X to reject. Repeat until none are left.
