Send for signature · Autessa Document Signing
Review and send
The review step is the last check before an Autessa envelope goes out. It shows the document with every field in place and a summary of signing order, signatures required, recipients, viewers and fields; it blocks the send while any required prefilled field is empty; and it lets you write a custom invitation subject and note.
The problem it solves
Mistakes are expensive once a contract is out
A missing price, the wrong order or a signer in the wrong slot means voiding and resending, and explaining why to the customer. The review screen puts the whole envelope on one page, and refuses to send a contract with empty required clauses.
What you get
- A summary panel: document title, signing order, signatures required, recipient count, viewer count and fields placed.
- Each numbered slot with its signer, and “any one of them signs” where you built a client group.
- Required prefilled fields that are empty are listed by label and page; click one to jump back to it. The send is blocked until they are filled.
- Edit message sets a custom invitation subject line and a short note near the top of the email; left blank, the default wording is used.
- On send, Autessa flattens prefilled content, mints a unique link per recipient, emails invitations (or only slot 1 under One at a time), emails viewers their copy, and records SENT on the audit trail.
- Signing links carry an expiry; scripts and the API can set the number of days for each send.

FAQ
Review and send: questions and answers
Can I customize the invitation email?
Yes. Use Edit message on the review step to set a custom subject line and a short note shown near the top of the invitation.
What happens when I click Send for signing?
Autessa flattens your prefilled content into the PDF, mints a unique signing link per recipient, emails the invitations (only slot 1 under One at a time), emails viewers a read-only copy, and records the send on the audit trail.
Why is my Send button blocked?
A required prefilled field is empty. The review screen lists it by label and page; click it to jump there and fill it.
